I am not > sure if the not running part maters or not.. I ship alot of cars to alot of places, and I can tell yo that running or not does matter. Some shippers won't take a non running vehicle. As for $500 cross country, that's pretty cheap. I've sent 4 cars in the last 6 months from California to various states East of the Mississippi none of them went for less than $700. Your best bet is to look in the yellow pages and call around. I now have a "regular" shipper that I use. Because he knows me and he knows I'll keep doing business with him if he takes care of me I can call him and say so and os will do it for $XXX and he always beats that price by at least $50 sometimes more......... Greg -- Greg Banfill Vintage Warehouse PO Box 2321 Windsor, Ca. 95492 707.291.7606 http://vintagewarehouse.com The way Banfill cut this message, it appears that I wrote the deal about $500 shipping cost. Joe McGill wrote that followed by a comment from Richard Green. Actually I wrote the following: I had a 1964 Type 34 shipped from San Diego to Dallas in 1998 for $850. I also had a 1955 Oval window shipped from Ohio to Dallas in 1998 for $950, and a 1952 Zwitter shipped from Ontario to Dallas in 2000 for $2,400 (I got screwed). It doesn't pay to ship cars. It is more expensive from north to south than from west to east. The transporters have a reason for it, but I think it's really because it's all that the market will bear. This is important because I don't want Banfill.distorting what I said.
