While these may look like a Torx, they really aren't. They are a metric spline
drive called an XZN in size 8. The XZN description is seldom called out, so
these are often sold as an 8mm metric spline.

The "case saver studs" are a temporary fix at best. Don't count on them to
last more than 6 months and sometimes they pull out as soon as you torque
them up. I avoid them. The only real repair are case inserts which are usually
solid. I think Heli-coils are a great product, but this is not the best place for
them, since oil will leak thru the threads on those which are in thru holes.

I don't know where to send you in the UK for case savers. Someone over
there will have to advise you. In the US we have RIMCO which does such a
good job so cheaply that it just doesn't pay to attempt your own. I've done
them myself, but it was a lot of trouble getting everything jigged up right to
get the holes drilled and tapped straight. OTOH, I have seen cases totally
destroyed by amateur attempts. The problem is that the holes really have to
be in there straight or the studs won't want to go thru the holes in the heads.

Perhaps you'll be lucky and find that the nuts are just loose. ;-)
