That's correct.

In fact, to just short it to ground you don't HAVE to disconnect it. 
Just connect a wire around it, from the connection to ground.

It seems unlikely that you would have a recurring trigger point 
problem that only happened on a hot restart, but then again I've got 
no better suggestions.

I very much appreciate your desire to work thru this one thing at a 
time.

What does Russ have to offer here?
