Here's the strange thing: I could get the bolts lined up parellel up to 1/4" away from the block but if I pushed in the left side of the engine, the right side would come out and vice versa. Maybe I was just frustrated and tried rushing it. I haven't experienced this problem putting the engine in my 66 Beetle. Do you prefer to leave the car jacked up or bring the car back down to the ground to put the engine in?
