The alternative method we used on my Variant and a friend's 1303 was to tie
a tow-rope or chain to pass under the jack and over the bump-stop mount.
This method is not as safe as the dad/ extra leverage methods, (particularly
if your knots aren't very good!), but gets the job done if you're stuck.
