Jim,Russ(everyone actually) yes the filter system has a flow rate equal to or greater than a stock oil screen(the element is "woven" to 3 or 4 times the surface area of a conventional stock screen), it incorporates a bypass valve (sits right below the filter)and also uses a magnetic pickup plug on the bottom of the "sump". Been running this setup for the last ten years with no oil starvation problems at all,and when I did pull it just to see,it was totally clean except for little tiny bits of debris(really small-would definitely have gone through the stock screen) I was very impressed for sure, and highly recommend them. The setup is from C.B. Performance,Farmersville,CA. and they call it a "Maxi Filter Sump" system.Ran about $60.00 back then-they've come down a bit. Cheers all Chuck '66 SB MT 1776 (as of 4/28!!!)
