The one time I did a temp repair with alum insertable tubes I found that because the wall was thicker the pushrod rubbed HARD against the side of the tube. If you look at your engine you'll see that the pushrods are not all perfectly centered in their spaces. The separable tubes have thicker walls by necessity and I didn't like them for this reason. I had to file out custom grooves inside each one that I installed for this reason. I wouldn't use them unless it was really necessary, but I agree that they were certainly a good thing for Simon to have along on his trips. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
