Yes, you can block that port off. The T-3's switch is located on the oil cooler. One of my cases came with a brass plug screwed in there to block it off. Another time, I cut the top off of one of those switches and epoxied the top closed. This will hamper putting the tin on, but just do that first and put the plug in after the tin is in place.
