Would it be okay to use Amsoil synthetic in my new motor in my new engine after it has been broken in properly with regular motor oil? Nearly all oils including the straight weight are detergent oils... the problem is with using something that is significantly better detergent wise that will resuspend the muck, since there is no way to filter it out it just keeps circulating and ruining the bearings. Dont disturb the gunk, unless you have full-flow in which case there is a filter. I had aa conversation years ago with an Amsoil rep about my wasted engine... he kept touting his product and such until he found out that stock T1 and 3 aircooled engines dont have an oil filter... he quickly shut-up when he realized I might be considering a lawsuit. Okay, I guess Ill drain that oil tomorrow? heh heh heh..... > Does anyone else have any experience with this? Don't multi-weights all > have detergent in them also? you mean to tell me no one uses multi-weight > oil on a stock engine? > If we can't do this is, their any other way to get rid of all that "neatly > stored gunk" ? > > Barry Viss > '68 Square > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
