Nearly all oils including the straight weight are detergent oils... the
problem is with using something that is significantly better detergent wise
that will resuspend the muck, since there is no way to filter it out it just
keeps circulating and ruining the bearings.  Dont disturb the gunk, unless
you have full-flow in which case there is a filter.

I had aa conversation years ago with an Amsoil rep about my wasted engine...
he kept touting his product and such until he found out that stock T1 and 3
aircooled engines dont have an oil filter... he quickly shut-up when he
realized I might be considering a lawsuit.
