RE: Muffler type?

I use a bugpack header with dual "quiet"
muffler setup. Not quiet enough for
so I welded those little glasspack exhuast
tips you get from autoparts shop; got a
dual, cut them in half and then welded it
to my system. My setup kept cracking and
falling off since the first month of my rough
driving. It's been six months now and many
welds to the dual muffler setup has been
done , even before the tips were installed.
The system was frankensteined reinforced
enough not to break off anymore. I had to weld
a bracket across the two mufllers so they
hold each other's weight an not just on the
thin flimsy pipe welded into their thin flimsy
muffler bodies, problem corrected.

The headers are called extractors because the
four equaled spaced pipes that meet each other
extract each others exaust when one of them is
blowing out at high speeds and leave a little
"vacume" or nozzle effect behind, this pulls
the next cylinders exauhst out too. I guess this
is scavanging from each other thus creating the
reverse of backpressure , a suction.

Though the system is flimsy from the manufacturer and
can be reinforced , it gives me outstanding
performance. I feel if I had a different muffler
system I would experience less power. Actually
I prefer the stock system since I like a quiet
humming car but my car came with a rotting
extractor setup when I got it.

cost: 110 bucks .

Leon,
What kind of exhaust setup do you use on your type 3?
