I did not pull the pan to check the valve body. This trans came out of a '69 squareback, and from what I can tell, it was the original trans. It has the same casting # as your '72-'73. I have mixed and matched governors and valve bodies before, without causing any difficulties. I was looking at the spec's in the "Without Guesswork" book, and I noticed that there is a note on the primary throttle pressure in neutral: up to August '71 it is 42psi. from Aug. '71 it is 45.5 psi. Another thing, is that if parts come from a T-4, the T-4 has a different rear axle ratio, which could effect the governor.
