The Bentley diagram shows the harness with the CSV option. If you 
delete all the wires #30-36, and the relay, valve, and temp switch 
from that diagram then you have your harness. I'd put money on the 
fact that your engine was replaced with a later engine by someone who 
wasn't quite sure what he was doing, so he left the temp switch from 
the later engine in place when he switched the rest of the parts 
over. It was a natural place to install the wire who's proper 
destination he had forgotten.

You should just remove the temp switch, and run the wire to the 
solenoid terminal that is hot ONLY while the starter is energized. 
This may actually improve your gas mileage. There are some holes in 
the "firewall" above and in front of the engine. Install a rubber 
grommet in one of them and run the wire thru that. You don't want 
that wire to chafe and short out.

There were several different temp switches. If you send us your 
engine # and the part # from the temp switch, I can probably tell you 
whether they originally came together.
