I may have missed a post. Why would you want to swich to swing from IRS? If you have a 73 it has the rear engine carrier supports on the body. These could be fabricated to fit the carrier in a Type IV engine. Plus, You can't use IRS trailing arms for a swing axle. Unless you are going to switch out the '68 pan into the '73 body. You don't need the frame horns with a rear engine carrier. "We have a 73 Square and will be placing a Type 4 engine in it and will need to change to a swing axle. The frame horns on a swing axle will support the engine better then a IRS." -- Phillip Bradfield - Portland, Oregon Member: Rose City Volksters - http://members.nbci.com/rosecityvolk/ http://www.volkshaus.com '63 Notchback w/ 68 pan - waiting for brake, electrical, and carb work: stock 1600 w/stock dual solex carbs '68 Squareback - waiting for '67 euro fenders and front clip: no motor yet '69 Squareback - chopped 3 1/2" with new 2.0l wheels: 1835 w/ dual 40mm Dellortos '??
