[T3] Fuel Injection Limits
Hi all,
I am tossing this question out in hopes that the "Pros of Type III" can
answer this question (hint to Jim, Russ, & Dave).
I have a 72 SquareBack. It has been restored with TLC. The engine is a 1776
and still is using the D-Jet FI (Druck Injection). It has a Jacobs Ignition
system to include a Pertronics points replacement unit in the distributor.
Obviously I am using the stock distributor with new FI points in it. I am
running Porsche 914 2.0 Green injectors at 25 pounds. The gas tank has been
cleaned and flushed, internal screen replaced. The fuel pump is a new unit as
of a year ago. The filter was replaced 250 miles ago. The throttle switch has
been adjusted per the book.
My question is this........ is it normal for the FI to have a mechanical
limit on how high it revs? It runs very quick up to a certain point... in 3rd
gear it limits at 50 miles an hour.... and thats it. It is like I have a
throttle limiter on it... ya I know... that would be the FI...lol. Also, at
times... it seems like it is starving out up around that range by surging at
this speed also.
Could the pressure sensor transducer?
Thanks , Pat@volksclocks
