This would probably work, just a kind of supercharging with pretty 
low pressure. I think that to make it work correctly with your carbs 
you would have to make sure that the pressurized air was also fed 
to the float bowl vent, otherwise the carbs would be pressurized 
from the inside out and the engine would tend to lean out as the 
RPMs went up. This would give you exactly the opposite of the 
result you were hoping for.
