Interesting, a 6V 67! VW gave most (but not all) of the world 12V in 67. In general, I have found that the only truly adjustable voltage regulators are the Lucas ones that came with OLD Triumphs and MGs, these are quite expensive. For VWs I find that there is no better quality than the Bosch, and nothing else comes close. None of the Bosch ones are really adjustable. I find that the resistors on the underside go open and that then the points burn. You might be able to replace the resistor, but it's not trivial to get that power rating in such a small package. They are pretty cheap, but, at least here, the 6V ones are probably getting hard to find. I recommend that you find a Bosch dealer who has one, or can order one.
