the machine shop they couldnt drill the drums due to the fact that the ridges that run from the axle nut area down to the edge of the drum (u probably have to look at the drum to understand what im talking about) other than that, i think they could have done the rotors no problem. That is useless though if i cant get the drums with these pretty alloys on em as well. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Adney" <jadney@vwtype3.org> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Sunday, November 21, 1999 9:16 AM Subject: Re: [T3] wheel adapters vs. drilling > On 21 Nov 99, at 2:39, seth robinson wrote: > > > ive had a set of porshe alloys ive been lookin to put on my square for some > > time, i fully step sanded and polished them myself. and then after finding > > out they wouldnt clear and putting short leg type 1 axles on it, i went to > > bring my rotors to the machine shop to have the porsche pattern drilled into > > them, and they said they couldnt do it. > > > > does anyone have this done?? i know it has been done, isnt this better than > > adapters? and last question where can i get this done?? > > It would help to know WHY they couldn't do the job.
