The stock Solex dual carbs are EXCELLENT! Any such single carb conversion would be a disappointing step down. The aftermarket single carb setup is for those who wish to convert from FI and it has a large number of drawbacks: It does not come well jetted to match your engine, it may not have any kind of choke, and it requires that you cut a hole in your engine cover plate to allow the carb to stick up. The ones that I have seen do not use the Holley Bug Spray, but I suppose that it might be possible to do so. You have to use the FI air runners to connect to the center manifold. I have one of these carbs & manifolds. It came with a pile of used parts I bought years ago and I have never been even tempted to use it. If someone REALLY wants it I would be happy to sell it cheap, but no warrantee and no promises. ;-) Jim - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison WI USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
