There should be no noise when you let the clutch pedal up because there should be nothing happening (everything rotating together) in the clutch under these conditions. If there is a noise it is probably due to the throwout bearing still being in contact with the pressure place; it should not be. Do you have any free play in the clutch pedal? You should have about 3/4". This can be hard to adjust if the return spring at the transmission is broken. By now ALL of these are broken so that is a good place to start; replace it.
