Dear Friends and gentle people, The gen light on my 71 Sqbk (solex carbs/auto) has been slightly glowing during periods of high demand; headlights, brakes, turn signals, for quite some time. The gen appears to be in very good shape; i.e., commutator smooth and shiny, no ridges, dialectrics undercut and clean, new good brushes free in the slots, voltage reg connections clean and tight, no signs of excessive heat etc near the shunt but I still get this glow. A full blown load test says that the regulated gen output is in the vicinity of 40 Amps, 14.07 Volts at 2500 rpm. Do I have a bad battery or what? BTW, I have a very good complete pair of Sqbk popouts (less the little rubbers for the "hooks") with almost new rubber for trade for a pair of stationary windows; we each pay our own shipping. any takers?
