No, no problem. In fact there is not even any air leak as both sides 
of the sheet tin are outside the forced air flow at that point.

This is the correct timing mark for your car. If the idle is unstable 
then I suspect that you have an air leak. This is most likely where 
you did your replacements. Did you use the correct replacements for a 
type 3?
