I'm having more problems with my 70 FI squareback. My prblems started a
week ago. While driving down the road my car began to jerk around
violently, almost like it was misfiring but not quite. (I know that's vague
but it is the best description I can give.) I continued driving despite the
convulsions that my car was going into and eventually it quit.
It has gone into these violent jerking episodes about 7 other times while
I've been driving down the road. Everything will be fine then all of a
sudden there is one small jerk...a few more....then then violent jerkings
come on. When they happen I will pull over for a while and see if I can
find the problem but can see nothing wrong. After I pull back on to the
raod I have no more problems that day.
By the way it is jerking it feels like there is something wrong with my
fuel system. The fuel lines all seem to be fairly new. Could it possibly
be a faulty fuel pump?? If it was the fuel pump wouldn't it be a constsnt
problem instead of an on again off again thing?? Could misadjusted valves
cause this problem?? what kind of tests can I run to find the problem?? I
have the Bentley so if the solution is in there point me to the right page,
as I cannot find the solution in there.
I filled up at a gas station that I don't usually go to before this
started happening, so at first I figured that it might be bad gas. So I put
in some Berrymans B-12 and put in some quality gas from a station that I
trust but this had no real effect.
PLEASE HELP?? THIS SAGA OF BETRAYAL MUST END
