I am a musician that earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. By day, I am the Plant Engineering Manager at a medical imaging film manufacturing plant in southern-Oregon (major corporation, often referred to as "the yellow box"). Off hours, I am a squareback wrencher, golfer, guitar/trumpet player, husband, chef, gardener with sporadic anal-retentive qualities and a zest for what's next. I appreciate each and every one of the posts to this board, and the postees too! Look forward to putting names with faces at some shows. I've only met Toby. Great guy, more energy than any two people. Ironically, he lives two blocks from my childhood home, I work about 5 miles from his childhood home. We live 300 miles apart. I've owned VW's since I was 19 (I'm 48 now), my wife bought a new super in 1971, we drove that until 1990. Always wanted a square, got this one right before Thanksgiving. Will be done with it (if I can find some door seals!) around July 1st. New or rebuilt most everything, made some mistakes, made the corrections. I rebuild a car every 10 years or so, whether I need to or not, just often enough to get it out of my system. Used to be into Alfa's, always owned a VW for a "parts runner." Nuff said.
