If the > '71 knob looks like this then it's probably the same. 311 827 535 is a round tophat, with serration vertically around the top half of the 'hat.' It's about 17mm high, and has a diameter of 17mm at thebrim, and ten at the top. Probably more importantly, it's got a slot about 2X8mm, where it slides onto the lever, which I apparently left on the Fastback, though, in addition to the knob, I got the lever slot gasket, the cable, and the latch mechanism itself, and put them all together in a plastic bag with a twist tie at the top -- I was apparently uncharacteristicallly organized when I was scrapping that car. Eric Forsman Baltimore, MD cc replies to me, please. I'm on digest; and I like to save all of your lovely letters to me. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
