The E stands for "Einspritzung" which is German for "Injection" The L-spec cars usually had most of the luxury options featured as standard in the US. Things standard on the L-spec, according to my '73 owners manual and personal experience: -Trip odometer -Clock -Anti glare switchable rear mirror (interior) -Lockable glove comp'ment -Electric fresh air fan -Eberspcher, in some countries. -Make-up mirror in sun shade -Halogen H4 headlights -Cigarette lighter -Bumper strips -Carpets instead of rubber mats -Radial tires -Two map pockets in door panels -Passenger sun visor on Squarebacks There were probably more, but this is all I can remember seeing on my Variant L, that I've not seen on regular Variants. Most of the late Fastbacks I've seen here in Norway are TLs. I believe that a list like this can not be made definite, as the different country's importers probably had a thing or two to say when deciding what equipment should be offered in that market. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything. PerL 73 Variant L ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
