They don't feel any different, Jim.  The Type 4 didn't have disc runout
compensating devices either, and the Type 2 doesn't.  Neither do modern
water-cooled ones.  Are you sure it isn't just over-engineering?

That's enough reason for me to not recommend them, and all the more
reason to encourage everyone to help me preserve the remaining old
good ones.
