I believe the fancy ones are just a way to separate you from an embarrasing amount of money. Of course there will be people who jump up and shout about how much better their brakes are after they rebuilt them with the fancy lines, but they have invariably done other things at the same time. It's also likely that they replaced old, BAD, hoses with new fancy hoses; this is likely to have been a good thing, but new ordinary hoses would have given an equal improvement.
