RE: [T3] Back seat tip

The USA version back rest does not latch in the down position, only the up
position. The seat bottom has a simple latch at the rear, center of the
seat. Look for a fish-hook style tab on/around the shift tunnel (well, if
the Euro did, indeed, get a seat latch). On the top, back part of the seat
bottom, in the middle, should be a slit -- this is where the loop went
through to the latch release. I remember mine being a clear, flexible
plastic. It broke several years ago so I just replaced it with some
bright-ass yellow nylon cord...hmmm, probably should use something a little
more suitable for a show car, huh? :) Look for posts at the far top corner
of your seat back and where it co?UTe to the body as these would be the
latch hinge and latch locking points.

The back rest lock is an important safety feature -- keeps the groceries
from slamming into the back rest and flinging any rear passengers into the
front seats. With keeping costs low and safety up I would think that the
same locking safety features found on the USA models would also be on the
Euro models as well because of the locking fixtures. But, not being an
automotive manufacturer myself, I am probably wrong :)
