Where in NY?? Im in Albany! Dist is OK but your eather 1) running too lean by improperly set up carburators (how many times have I seen this??) 2) running too high a CR and need to lower it or raise the Octane you need (common problem with reconditioned heads). 3)Using cheap 87 octane gas 4) Running the timing too advanced This will kill your engine fast so fix as soon as possible.
