... or a nut with teeth. You just turn the nut along the thread, only the nut stays in one place and the thread moves to push the lining closer to the drum. I find thinking of it that way helps to work out which way to turn it. A small pry bar with a turned up end works a bit better than a straight screwdriver. If you get a chance to buy brass star wheels, that's what was fitted back in the fifties, and there wasn't the problem of sticking in the housings that comes with the steel ones. Dave.
