While the engine's out, sort out any rust on the engine mount hangers, check the starter bush, the clutch components for wear, the release bearing (some replace it anyway), the gearbox mainshaft seal, the clutch operating lever return spring; lubricate the clutch operating shaft bushes. You may find it worth checking for any seepage from the crankshaft oil-seal; you don't want to have to replace that soon. I've heard it said that if you don't do the bearings, don't expect too much more from the bottom end once the top's been done. .
