The original color of the hinge cover in your '65 squareback should be the off-white like your headliner and also textured. The texturing is kind of like that of an old movie projector that was ever present in elementary school. I believe there is a spray-on type of this texture. Probably available at larger home improvement stores. Too bad the paint shop stripped it, (that is unless it really needed it.)
