Your instrument cluster lost its ground. This is normally just 
supplied by the retaining clips, and shifting it around will probably 
make it get better again. This is not serious, except that it can 
make your gas gauge read slightly off sometimes.

This is a common problem that requires disassembly and repair of the 
speedometer. It is so common that getting another used one may just 
give you another broken one.
