Yes, in my opinion all you are accomplishing is a few wasted 
horsepower and lower engine effenciency. I would start by getting 
back to a more normal weight oil. If you commonly drive in temps that 
are above 90F then use 10W-40. If you seldom see anything warmer than 
80F use 10W-30.

High pressures translate exactly into more power consumed in pumping 
the oil, and this is power that ends up as heat in your oil instead 
of moving you down the road.
