Hello to the list again after a long period of not having a server. God I've missed the info on this list, and my poor SB needs you "volks" badly. My Square has the dual 34 Weber carb. kit, with a some-what funky but functional linkage on it, (looks to have been welded/repaired). Anytime¦že, the idle rev's up so bad that I have to take it out of gear to avoid burning up the brakes, and accomodate stopping, (ya,... that bad). I have replaced the throttle cable, messed with the linkage, checked the float valve/jet, cleaned the carbs and even kissed the exaust pipe and pleaded with it, all to no avail. I thought it may have been the inertia of stopping, affecting the linkage, or the return springs were to weak. After playing with those ideas I am no closer to solving the problem. One interesting thing is that when I slowly creep over a steep hill, the rev's increase dramaticly. Would tilting the nose down, (slowly, with no inertia afecting the linkage), make gas run out of the float bowl into the engine? When I brake hard, such as at a yellow light at an intersection, it takes 15-20 seconds for it to slowly return to an idle. I just replaced the front brakes, the whole ca'bang, including bearings, rotors and pads, and would like to see them last without giving them the whooping I have in the past. Does anyone have any theories? I'm about ready to get a new 34 Weber kit and S*%# can the old. HEEEEEEELP!
