Wanted everybody to be clear on this, my language was apparently none too clear in the original post... Sorry. Running on *really* short sleep. I'm with you, sir. My comments were rambling, but I was trying to say that all of the gear-heads I hang out with belittle the quality of Helicoil, but the other, seemingly hardier, variety (Timesert) is the only type I've had fail under load. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney [SMTP:jadney@vwtype3.org] Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 1999 8:27 PM To: James MacNaughton Subject: Re: [T3] Helicoils On 2 Jun 99, at 9:25, James MacNaughton wrote: > >>>Not that my opinion weighs much next to Jim's, but for what it's > worth, Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but after a careful reading of your comments, I'm really not too sure what your opinion actually is. Part of the confusion hinges around your use of the slang term "bags" which must be regional; I never heard of it. Part stems from your last sentence where I think you started out to put down Helicoils and ended up putting down Timeserts.
