A Passat starts at $30500, then you get a 1,6 engine with 100 hp. The top engine Passat (2,8 Syncro) is somewhere around $60000. In addition, the gas costs between $4,00-4,50 for a (US) gallon. The car the tax rate is not very progressive, a larger engine costs way more than a small engine. Regular small and midsize cars can have 300% import taxes, luxury cars even more. No wonder I'm driving old cars (my "newest" is my 88 Vanagon). 74 PerL 73 Variant L ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
