Stan I had a very similar problem and I seriously thought a couple of times that I would just throw the engine in the river. It turned out that the breather box had one side stopped up. I don't know if you have the same problem but the only way I know to check it is to blow air through each opening of th breather box and make sure it comes out all the other openings of the breather box. I had to take mine off to do this which was a real pain. The oil on mine would actuall flow into the air cleaner and then drain down through a small hole on the back side of the air cleaner , down the Cyl #1  side and then onto the ground and a few other places and end up in about an 8 " pool on the ground.
