Speaking of ridiculous prices. At the Portland show in the swap section there was a 78 or 79 Super Beetle convertible. One owner. 40K miles. Only thing changed was the tires. guy wanted $20,000. Type 3 content: There was a very nice early custom notch at the show in the swap section for sale at $8500. Too bad he wasn't in the show as his car was easily the nicest type 3 at the show. Two decent early Fastbacks in the show. One powderùcÛË d one black with red interior. There was also pretty nice 68 fastback that was stock sans the highback seats and 3 point seatbelts. It was an original family car imported over from Greece to Portland then to Texas and back to Tacoma. The guy was a new teacher learning that teaching doesn't pay that much right out of school so he was selling it for $4500. it was pretty funny/sad to see only two type threes in the show and four fastbacks in the swap section. Overall it was a good show with nice weather. Somewhat small. I sure miss the Denver shows!!!!
