Speaking of ridiculous prices. At the Portland show in the swap section there was a 78 or 79 Super Beetle convertible. One owner. 40K miles. Only thing changed was the tires. guy wanted $20,000. Type 3 content: There was a very nice early custom notch at the show in the swap section for sale at $8500. Too bad he wasn't in the show as his car was easily the nicest type 3 at the show. Two decent early Fastbacks in the show. One powderùcغثd one black with red interior. There was also pretty nice 68 fastback that was stock sans the highback seats and 3 point seatbelts. It was an original family car imported over from Greece to Portland then to Texas and back to Tacoma. The guy was a new teacher learning that teaching doesn't pay that much right out of school so he was selling it for $4500. it was pretty funny/sad to see only two type threes in the show and four fastbacks in the swap section. Overall it was a good show with nice weather. Somewhat small. I sure miss the Denver shows!!!!
