I am running dual 40mm DCNF's on a stock 1600 with no problems at all.
No stumble 6Lkrr off idle (had to go from 32mm main venturi's to
30mm) and runs fairly clean, maybe a little rich. It took me 6 months
and oxygen sensor/gauge setup and a stash of jets from an old timer to
finally get them setup right. Just make sure you match up the exhuast
system to it. I run a 1.5 in merged.
It is prob a good idea to run the thick wall 88 p&c's like Berg
recommends and use a 74mm crank for a 1.8L.
