I'm pretty much sure about the dash plate, it is not mandatory for cars to
have this here, and the only cars in Europe to have this (except cars of US
origin) are Euro-Fords AFAIK. No other car manufacturer uses these here. My
73 has the VIN plate under the hood, together with the paint/production
code plate, a paint code sticker in the spare tire well, but no plate or
sticker on the dash or in the door jamb. Same thing for my 68 Bug, except
for the paint/production code plate. This plate is not used on this Bug.
