The early type 3s have the VIN stamped in 3 places: on the top of the 
tunnel under the back seat, on a silver plate near the spare tire, 
and on a sticker in the left door jamb.

Later cars (69-, I think) have those three, plus a forth on a plate 
rivited to the dash.
