I happened to be playing with the radio in our '71 Squareback this morning while warming the car up in the￣嵸y. It was dark outside and I had the parking lights on. As far as I know, the radio is the original one - AM/FM with 2 FM push buttons and 3 AM ones. As I was flipping between AM and FM a few times I noticed the backlight in the radio dial got dim, then bright, then dim again. I finally noticed that while on AM, it was lit with the same greenish light the guages are (the dim light I noticed), but while on FM the radio was lit with a brighter orangish light! We've had the Squareback for 4 or 5 years now and I never noticed this change in the lighting of the radio before... BTW, is the radio *supposed* to do this??
