Stock carbs do have a bushing but it is very narrow.... about 1/8" it also has some sort of nylon sleeve in there also, but it doesn't do much, the replacement bushing are much wider about 1/4 -1/2 inch....... I have rebushed carbs (a set of type 3 carbs, and a set of late bus dual carbs....) it is not that difficult to do, you need the proper drill bit size for the outer diameter of the bushing, the bushings themselves, a bushing driver ( to insert the bushing), and a reamer to size the whole for the throttle shaft... the tricky part is to set it up in the drill press so that the bushings on both sides are in perfect aligö89....
