They are the parts of the carb that the throttle valve shaft rotates in. In essence, a bearing. I think that in a stock carb, there is no bushing. It is just a hole in the throttle body. This hole wears until it leaks air and then can be repaired by drilling it out and pressing in a bushing as a repair. This is a standard repair which I believe RIMCO is good at.
