"I was having trouble with my 64 notch stalling after it got warm. It would start and after just a little help would begin to idle just fine. The problem it that it would stall once it warmed up. I could restart it again no problem but it wouldn't stay running on its own, I would have to keep giving it some pedal. It's a 1500 with a single, solex 32, side-draft carb. I refer to this in past tense because this was a couple of months ago while it was still warm. It's been parked becau5¡%Ûally don't like to drive it during real cold weather or on snow and ice, but now I need to get it going. Right now it doesn't want to kick over at all and I suspect it's related to the idle problem I was having before. It has been a little chilly the last couple of days but the engine is turning just fine, it simply doesn't want to fire up." PART 2- As I've said, I've been trying to get it to kick over. As suggested I disabled the auto-choke according John Muir's instructions. No help. I set the points, timing, checked plugs..... I also did a check on the coil to see if it's giving a good spark.....nice blue/white spark. Checked one of the spark plug wires....nice blue/white spark. It seems to be getting spark just fine. I suspect the fuel mix is not right. Before this condition started it seem to run fine....then one day the stall after warm problem suddenly appeared. Is there something that could be sticking with the carb or something like that? Boy I wish it would turn over, Bill ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/
