RE: Brakes, Engine, and Seats or something like that

There should be

* a large bracket spot-welded to the rear of the engine compartment
* a steel donut-like affair lined with rubber that bolts up to the
   bracket
* a steel tube that bolts through the fan shroud into the crancase vent
   riser

The bracket holds up the donut, and the tube rests inside the donut, the
only connection between engine and body. None of this is an engine
mount, but many people think of it that way.

Me> I realize that it isn't really an engine mount. I bought my Notchback
sans motor and transaxel. The motor I bought didn't have this part. And
the piece that attaches to the body was also missing. The bracket that is
tack welded to the rear of the engine bay is there, but one of the P.O.
decided to attack it with a large hammer or something. I have found a
replacement for this, and I will weld it on. I'm simply looking for all
the parts from the bracket to the engine that you described. I can't
locate any of the parts at the local salvage yards.

On the other hand, you may
be thinking of the later arrangement
('69-on), where a rear crossmember holds up the engine because the IRS
tranny can't. This part is unnecessary in a swing-axle car.

Me> I have both (see below). I understand this.

Any of this make sense?

Me> Yup. It does.
