Is anyone out there running an electric fuel pump for their carbs that has some kind of safety system? I have the G. Berg approved Holley fuel pump and regulator and I know how to install all of it but I want to have some kind of safety system to kill it should I try to teach my car new tricks, like rolling over or laying on it's side. The pump comes with instructions on a set up using a Holley oil pressure switch (which I have) and connections to the starter but I'm not sure at what pressure the switch is set to open [the electric circuit] at -- I think 5-6psi but I should get it checked -- but I would like it to open at a lower pressure of 1-2psi. I've also thought about a mercury switch...anyone have suggestions on getting/wiring one up or using another similar type switch to measure the vehicle'n靂 road orientation? It must not switch off during hard acceleration, braking or cornering, only when the car is on its side or upside down! Thoughts, suggestions, opinions, cogitations and experiences welcomed (Phil, did I miss any other descriptive words? :) Toby Erkson air_cooled_nut@pobox.com <-- Please use this address for email '72 VW Squareback 1.6L bored and stroked to 2.0L, Berg five-speed '75 Porsche 914 1.8L, R.I.P., ORPCA member '95 VW Jetta GL 2.0L, boringly bone-stock Portland, Oregon, http://www.pobox.com/~toby_erkson/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
