1) I had that problem once, my shifter plate(under the carpet) had gotten loose and wasn't allowing enough travel. Easy enough to fix. Could also be signs that the tranny is getting worn, but try the plate firsBy?Ãt is the plate and you continue to drive it without adjusting it, you WILL need a new tranny because the dog teeth on the gear will be worn off. 2) There's a number of things hard-starting could be. If it was mine, I'd start with a fuel pressure and volume check and replace the filter if it hasn't been done lately. Also check the auxilary air valve to see if it wasn't stuck or loose. A misadjusted or malfunctioning throttle position switch will do that, too. Easy enough to clean and fix. My normal starting procedure after sitting for any length of time is to turn the key until the pump kicks on a couple of times to get pressure up, then pump the pedal once to squirt some gas(with the key still on). Takes off right away, then. This is on a '71, not sure if a '69 has the proper contacts on the throttle position switch to do that.
